Bringing remote places to those who cannot get there… and teaching.

I’d come home invigorated but exhausted from my trips through the jungle, with office work seeming like a vacation after the physical strain of pushing through days of heat and mud on little more than eggs and rice and beans.

My academic colleagues loved my travelogues, given as lunch-and-learns, with an intellectual but humorous tone, well researched and presented more as ethnographic papers than anything else.

But the real love remained—just sharing my adventures, photographs, and perspective on remote places and cultures with others. Bringing those who could not reach these people and places as close as possible without actually being there. Seeing that twinkle in someone’s eye when they saw another’s worldview for the first time…

My father, a former world traveler himself, now with Parkinson’s in his 80s and in assisted living, would rave about a woman who shared travelogues about her trips to Europe at his facility in Rochester, New York. He loved learning from her and felt like he was still traveling when she brought her travels to him.

Not everyone can get to the remote places I get to. So I want to bring the remote places to them.

With this vision, Adventure Travelogues was born.

I’d love to share my stories with you!

What’s in our Travelogues?

  • Photographic Show

Live the journey through the photos that detail the whole trip.

  • Storytelling

Hear what the journey was really like—the challenges, the surprises, the things that made us laugh along the way, and what gave us pause.

  • Q&A Session

How do you deal with camping in the snow? How do you find your way where there is no trail? What do you do if you come face to face with a wolf? Well—we have! These are the questions people want to hear about! Ask us anything!

  • Art & Artifacts When Able

For some shows we bring art and artifacts from the expedition for you to have a look at!
